Crestron and the Apple Watch

 

Instantly access common commands and scenes with dynamic control straight out of a great spy movie.

Such a small screen, how will it be useful to our clients? Below are some examples that we think will make the Apple Watch valuable as a remote control.

The Crestron app provides:  At a glance status updates lights: Which rooms have lights currently on HVAC: What temperature did we leave set Shades: Are the shades open or closed Security: Did I forget to arm the system Locks: Did the kids lock the doors once they returned home   Access and control of any device Easily turn the lights on or off.  Lock the doors and turn on the security system   Customizable user interface display As with any Crestron interface you are not locked into a 'canned' look. Customize how your Apple Watch accesses each feature of your control system We’re excited to bring Crestron control to the Apple Watch. This will bring a new level of convenience and allow homeowners to monitor their systems at a glance.

We don't see the Apple Watch replacing every remote or touchscreen in the home. Frankly it is too small to offer convenient access to every item in your home.  We do see the Apple Watch as a great compliment to the other controls in your home.  Easy access to the status of your systems and simple control to the most important items.  On / off control, Raise / lower or recall preset scenes, Set a value such as the temperature in your home and secure or allow access to doors and security.

No more fumbling for your keys! With the flick of your wrist have access to your home and control it in the most convenient way possible via Crestron and Apple.
